Media is not studied at KS3

 

At Key Stage 4 students will study:

Specification: Edexcel BTEC Level ½ in Creative Digital Media Production.

How is the course assessed?

25% written exam, 75% Coursework.

What will they cover throughout the course?

Students will study four units. ‘Unit 1 Digital Media Sectors and Audience’ - a written unit focussing on theories within media. They also study ‘Unit 2: Planning and Pitching a Digital Media Product’ - a unit that is a mixture of practical and theory work where students are required to create a pitch for a moving image product. ‘Unit 3: Digital Moving Image production’ requires students to complete research tasks about the moving image sector (TV and Film) as well as plan, create and evaluate a specific moving image product. Finally, ‘Unit 4: Digital Audio Production’ requires students to complete research tasks about the audio sector as well as plan, create and evaluate 3 specific audio products.

Students have all of the course material shared with them on their google drive, this is an excellent revision source and means that they can complete their coursework at home as well as in lessons.
