Tomorrow is the first Challenge and Achievement Day of this academic year. Sometimes in school we need longer 'chunks' of time to teach learners skills or to focus on particular areas of their learning. During each year, on carefully selected days, we will ‘re-shape’ the regular timetable and re-direct all students and staff onto year-based activities. These are known as Challenge and Achievement Days.
The principal aim of Challenge and Achievement days is to allow the opportunity for experiences and activities which don't necessarily fit into a one hour lesson blocks - including study visits, problem solving, confidence and team building projects, workshops, careers advice, work experience, additional study support sessions, performances and guest speakers and presenters.
Students will be taking part in a huge range of activities tomorrow:
Year 7: Inter-house challenge (students to wear their PE kit or smart casual clothing depending on their activity).
Year 8: Relationships and opportunities (students to be in full uniform)
Year 9: Choices- post Chelsea’s Choice production and PSHE (students to be in full uniform)
Year 10: Careers/ Information and Guidance (students to be in full uniform)
Year 11: Curriculum support (students to be in full uniform)
Sixth form: Students are taking part in a range of activities including UCAS aplication and student leadership qualifications (students to be in full uniform)
Selected students are taking part in School Production rehearsals (they must come in school uniform but can bring comfortable clothes to change into).
