Monday 9th July - A message from Mrs Walters

posted 8 Jul 2018, 07:17 by Katrina Heather
We would like to wish students across the academy a good day on Monday. Trips have been offered to Lymington Sea Water Baths, Blackgang Chine, and Thorpe Park, but all those opting out will follow an alternative programme in school.  Year 7 students will be involved in inter House Rounders and Bench ball followed by a film and popcorn,  whilst Year 8/9 have been offered a broader programme. All year 8/9 students staying at school will  have opted from a menu of Climbing, Archery, Mountain boarding, Team games, Art Attack, Football Leaders Award, Sports Leadership, Board Games. Many will also embark on their first day of GCSE Art, taking the opportunity to lay down their marker for future success at GCSE. Year 10 students will enjoy a combination of coursework catch up and enrichment, taking this opportunity to graduate from year 10, without the burden of incomplete work/ substandard work.

A group of students who exhibited behaviour concerns in recent weeks will not be taking part in the day, and will be working under direct supervision at school.

For all students on site on Monday 9th July - There is no tutor time that day, so please register directly with the member of staff leading the activity, at venues advised previously. Any student not sure, please go directly to reception. Uniform need not be worn but we ask that clothes are appropriate and comfortable for the occasion i.e for those taking part in sport, this would comprise their PE kit and for others, certainly no beachwear or items of clothing that reveal midriffs.
