Information from Island Line about train services

Island Line train services are currently suspended due to recent severe flooding in the Ryde area. There are about 20 locations near to Ryde where the land supporting the track has been washed away and track repairs are expected to take up to 3 weeks to repair. 

An hourly coach replacement service is in place between Ryde Esplanade at xx 50 minutes past each hour and Shanklin  at xx 38 minutes past each hour. A shuttle taxi service is replacing trains between Ryde Esplanade and Ryde Pier Head. Rail Ticket holders will also be able to use Southern Vectis No 2 and No 3 between Ryde Esplanade and Shanklin. 

In addition to the hourly replacement coach service running between Ryde Esplanade and Shanklin (click here for times) additional coach services will be provided on Monday to Friday (inclusive) from Monday 6th January for the benefit of Sandown schoolchildren travelling to and from school. 

Coaches will call at the following stations except Brading (bus calls Bullring (towards Ryde) and Wheatsheaf Pub (towards Shanklin) and Sandown (bus calls Perowne Way by Rugby Club). 

Times are as follows: 


Coach 1 
Ryde Esplanade depart 0810, 
Ryde St Johns Road 0815, 
Brading (Wheatsheaf Pub) 0825, 
Perowne Way, Sandown (Rugby Club) arrive 0835. 

Coach 2 
Shanklin depart 0800, 
Perowne Way, Sandown (Rugby Club) arrive 0810. 

Coach 3 
Shanklin depart 0820, 
Perowne Way, Sandown (Rugby Club) arrive 0830. 


Coach 1 
Perowne Way, Sandown (Rugby Club) depart 1525, 
Brading (Bullring)1530, 
Ryde St Johns Road 1540, 
Ryde Esplanade arrive 1545. 

Coach 2 
Perowne Way, Sandown (Rugby Club) depart 1515, 
Shanklin arrive 1525. 

Coach 3 
Perowne Way, Sandown (Rugby Club) depart 1535, 
Shanklin arrive 1545.
