Year 7's pay a visit to pupil's at The Bay

With students in Year 6 preparing their next steps towards High School, Mr Green, Key Stage 3 Director of Progress at SBA took to The Bay Primary with ex-primary students now in Year 7 at Sandown. With part of his role as transition manager where he overviews the process of students making the move from Year 6 to Year 7, he worked with The Bay Primary school and took a number SBA Year 7 ambassadors to talk to their Year 6 students. 

Sandown Bay Academy students held a 30 minute 'chat show' style presentation where they were talked about their experiences moving from primary to secondary. Year 6 students listened, talked of their excitement of the move to high school and asked questions.

Mr Mills, Headteacher at The Bay said, "It was so lovely to welcome ex-students to talk to our Year 6's. They were so excited about meeting the Year 7's and hearing about the next stage for them as they move to high school".

Mr Green and will continue to visit partner primaries to ensure important information from Year 6 teachers is collected, to support the new students' transition. Upcoming dates for Year 6 transition are detailed below:

28th June 2018 - Transition Day (Year 6 into Year 7)
28th June 2018 - 5:00pm-7:30pm Intake information evening for students and parents (Lecture Theatre at Sandown Bay Academy)
29th June 2018 - Transition Day (Year 6 into Year 7)
