Tracking Superstars

The first set of tracking data for Year 7 was extremely encouraging, with 98 students receiving certificates for their positive attitudes to learning.  Well done to Aimee Stembridge, Rachel Roberts, Alfie Amey, Toby Craig, Alisha Chapman, Neve Rust, Sophie Burton , Ellie Ahronson, Maries Sharp and Tobias Toone who all achieved outstanding attitude to learning in eight of their subject areas. A brilliant start to Sandown Bay Academy. Well done!

Year 6 Open Evening Stars

There were hundreds of Year 6 parents and children at the Open Evening on Thursday 16th October. Over 40 Year 7 students proudly showed parents around the school, which was alive with different activities and taster sessions in all departments. The parents were greeted by Mr Jackson and Miss Chase, but the real stars were Tobias Toone , Ellie Brackenbury Eli Abraham and Maisie Revert; they spoke to all the parents in South Hall about their experiences at SBA and why it is the best school to choose. This is a  huge achievement and one that was celebrated in the Year 7 Celebration Assembly.

Year 7 Curriculum Focus Newspaper Day

The first of the Curriculum Focus days was a huge success in Year 7. After a presentation from Tom Seal, a journalist from the County Press, six tutor groups competed against each other to produce a Newspaper by 2.30pm. The task focused on life skills, with an emphasis on team work and meeting deadlines. All of the newspapers produced were excellent, but Mr Jackson chose 7GRHE as the winning team. He was impressed with the way the newspaper was structured using local, national and international news and the catchy headlines and balance between photographs and reports.

Well done 7GRHE, you should all be very proud of yourselves.

Well done!

Miss Chase, Head of Year 7
