Thank you to all the parents who came along to the Sixth Form welcome event this week. It has been a busy week for sixth formers who started enrichment on Wednesday, I hope they are making the most of the fantastic range of enrichment activities on offer to them each Wednesday afternoon, including golf, gym, badminton, Maths Café, Medrox, Ice Skating, Mock trial and climbing to name just a few.

It was great to see so many Sixth Formers embracing the house spirit for Inter house netball and football this week. Well done to Yellow house who won both competitions.

We have had another successful sporting week at SBA, the Year 8 and Year 10 football teams both beat Ryde Academy on Tuesday, while the Year 7 and Year 11 football teams both drew with Ryde Academy on Wednesday.

We had some very talented Year 6 students visit the academy this week for a specialist languages day and a specialist musical theatre day. They were learning Japanese, German and Spanish on Tuesday while others learnt African drums, film making and dance on Wednesday. Feedback from the staff running the days has been that the students were a pleasure to teach and are likely to be stars in the future.

Interviews took place today for Academy Captains. Thank you to everyone who was nominated, it will be tough to pick from such a gifted selection of students who are so enthusiastic about representing the voices of students in the Academy.

I hope the weather brightens up for the Geology students on the long drive back from Arran this weekend.
