Congratulations to Adam Davis in Year 10 who found out this week that he won a top award for his entry into the Young Geographer of the Year competition run by the Royal Geographical Society in conjunction with Geographical Magazine. He was one of three highly commended entries out of over 700 in the Key Stage 4 category. Adam will collect his award at The ‘Young Geographer of the Year Awards’ ceremony on Friday 28th November in London. This is an amazing achievement, well done Adam. Thanks to Miss Builth and those who have encouraged him.

The focus for assemblies this week was Remembrance Day; students reflected and remembered the soldiers who have lost their lives or been injured fighting for their Country.  To mark the centenary of The Great War and Remembrance Day students in 7LS and 7RS3 each made a poppy in their textiles technology lesson and these were placed around a commemorative display board.

The U15 netball team came third at the IW Schools Netball Tournament, beating Cowes B and Medina and losing to Ryde School and Cowes A team by narrow margins.

Enjoy your weekend; hopefully it won’t be too wet.
