Principal's Blog - Friday 14th October

I was incredibly proud of our student ambassadors at the Year 7 Open Evening last night. They did a fabulous job showing prospective parents and students around and it was lovely to see how proud of their school they are.

Students in Year 9 watched a performance by 'Chelsea's Choice' this week.  The powerful and innovative production highlighted the serious and emotional issue of child exploitation.

We were delighted to welcome a group of Thai students into the Academy this week. They spent the week shadowing Year 9 students in lessons. Some great friendships were formed that will no doubt last many years. The Thai students are returning next Friday to perform a traditional Thai dance as a sign of their appreciation for how welcome they were made to feel.

Congratulations to the U16 Rugby team who beat Warblington School 49-0 this week.

There was a great atmosphere at the Inter House Rowing Competition on Wednesday. It is lovely to see students in Years 7 through to 13 working together. Congratulations to Blue House the overall winners.

Next week is the first Parent Forum meeting of this academic year. If you would like to be part of the group then you are very welcome to attend on Tuesday 18th October at 5.30pm, just email

Enjoy your weekend
