This final week of term has been a very busy and enjoyable one. On Wednesday there was a hive of activities around the Academy for Challenge and Achievement day, activities included targeted revision and controlled assessment support, inter house competitions, careers fair, health and well-being, creative crafts and lots more. A special thank you to all the island businesses who gave up their time to come in the Year 10 careers fair. Students found it extremely useful.

The first Sandown Bay Academy Christmas Fair was a great success and will hopefully be the first of many in the years ahead. Thank you to the School Council and to ‘Friends of Sandown Bay Academy,’ a group of parents for organising it so well.

It was lovely to see so many students recognised for their efforts today in the House celebration assemblies. Over 2200 certificates were given out for effort, achievement, and participation. Congratulations to everyone nominated, we have some truly talented students.

Please take a few minutes to complete a form with information that schools are required to collect by the DFE (click here). Copies are also going home with students today.

Wishing you all a very happy holiday. Students return to school on Tuesday 3rd January 2017, it is Week A.
