Principal's Blog - Friday 17th July

posted 17 Jul 2015, 02:09 by Karen Bricknell

It is now time for the summer break and I hope that all of the Academy staff and students have a wonderful time whether it be on the sunny Isle of Wight or elsewhere.

It has been a great year for Sandown Bay. Previous blogs have relayed that the Academy has improved significantly and this has been confirmed at various points by Ofsted and others.  We have also maintained a sense of excitement and our students have had a range of opportunities that I have never seen on such scale. All of these are recorded in hundreds of photographs that have been published on this blog during the course of the year.

As you will know, this is my final blog as Principal and I am very proud of our achievements. I want to thank everyone for the support that they have given me since my sudden arrival in November 2013.  I have always sensed optimism and a desire from the staff to do their best for the students. The students themselves have been delightful and wish their school to do well.

My final message is to students and families alike; see life as a range of opportunities and challenges, be flexible, never doubt yourself and always be in a position where people can describe you at your best.  If you do that, you will be in the strongest position to seize any chances that come your way.

I am very confident that Sandown Bay Academy will continue to thrive under the leadership of Claire Charlemagne and I look forward to seeing the improvements that she and her team make when I visit the academy, throughout the Autumn term.
