Principal’s Blog Friday 17th March

It was lovely to welcome our new students and parents at the Year 6 Welcome Evening on Wednesday. The hall full of students excited about joining the Academy in September. We look forward to them visiting the Academy on their transition days soon and finding out more about the opportunities on offer for them.

Students had a fabulous time at Year 7 Interhouse Basketball this week. Green House won the boys competition whilst Blue House won the girls competition. Next Wednesday is Year 8 Interhouse basketball.

We had more girls football success this week with the U19 team convincingly securing the Isle of Wight league and 5-a side-double championships. Well done to all the girls, especially to the Year 11's and 13's who played their last ever game for the school.

Musical Theatre Club starts on Thursday 23rd March, I would encourage as many of you as possible to go along and give it a try.

Friday 24th March is Red House Mufti Day to raise money for Comic Relief. Students are asked to wear something red and bring in £1.00. There will be cake sales at lunch and break times and live music. There is also a Year 7 Disco taking place from 3.30-5.30pm, tickets are available from reception for £2.00.

This week we said goodbye to Mr Eastick and Mr Wilkhu. We are thankful for their service and wish them good luck in their new ventures. We welcome new teacher Maureen Sullivan who will be starting in the Maths department on Monday.

Enjoy your weekend
