Congratulations to the 150 students who are taking part in Yellow House Walk today to raise money for Earl Mountbatten Hospice. Some students started walking at 10.30pm last night and will finish at 8.30pm tonight! Well done for your determination and resilience.

Congratulations to the Year 7 and 8 students who competed in the island schools athletics championships  hosted at SBA this week. Well done to everyone who qualified to represent the Isle of Wight at the Hampshire Championships.

Another impressive turn out for Inter House this week, with tennis, dodgeball and sewing bee taking place.

Year 8 and Year 10 students watched a powerful workshop about the dangers of drugs and alcohol by The Solomon Theatre Group this week.

Good luck to our Global Rock team who compete tomorrow night at Portsmouth Guildhall. Their performance at the Showcase in March was exceptional so I hope that all their hard work and many many hours of practice pays off.

Next week is The Baylink Olympics where 1200 primary school children will visit Sandown Bay Academy for two days of sports competition and cross-curricular learning. We are praying for the rain to stay away!

On Monday and Tuesday of next week we will be welcoming our new Principal, Mrs Charlemagne into the academy. This will help her identify how she is going to continue to improve the school in September. Click here to read the letter from Beverely Perin, Chair of the Management Board and Libby Nicholas, Regional Director of Education for AET about Mrs Charlemagne’s start date.

 Enjoy your weekend
