Principal's Blog - Friday 20th November

posted 20 Nov 2015, 03:24 by Karen Bricknell   [ updated 20 Nov 2015, 06:19 ]

It was great to see so many students at our Sixth Form Open Evening last night. Thank you to our Sixth Form student helpers who were fantastic ambassadors and really showcased what an excellent Sixth Form we have here at Sandown.

Year 11 students I hope you have used the development day today to do some revision for the mock exams which start on Monday (click here to view the schedule). These are important exams and once they have been sat staff will start the important task of analysing the papers to see which areas each student needs to focus on to improve and to ensure they reach their full potential when they sit their GCSE examinations in the Summer Term. Please take advantage of the additional help and support that staff are providing for you over the coming weeks and months. Results will be given out on ‘Brown Envelope’ day in January.

Camp International came to talk to students in Years 10, 11 and 12 this week to talk about an exciting trip to Peru during the Summer of 2017. The trip will provide students with the chance to work on a range of sustainable and meaningful community and conservation projects before undertaking an exhilarating trek to Machu Picchu. There is a Parents Expedition Evening taking place on Tuesday 24th November at 6.30pm for anyone who would like more information.

Enjoy your weekend; I hope the weather is better than last weekend.
