Well done to the Year 9 students who were winners of the outreach day challenge at Southampton University this week. They were competing in a Dragons Den style competition to pitch a presentation about work skills ‘academic –v- non-academic.’ Their innovative and original presentation beat 9 other schools from Hampshire. Congratulations to Miles Grist, Jack Allen, Connor Wearn, Lawrence Lynch, Ryan O'Neill, Kai James, Tia Foster, Imogen Hawkins, Aimee Askins, Charlotte Johnson, Georgia Hudson, Angel Sard and Alana Stoddard Bates.

The Year 7 girls’ football team were also winners this week. They won the Island 5-a-side indoor football tournament, winning every game they played!

Blue House were winners in the Year 11 Inter house basketball while Yellow House were winners in the Year 10 and 11 girls’ competition; it is great to see so many students involved in the House competitions.

The Solomon Theatre Company came in this week to do a powerful presentation to Year 9 students about the effects of alcohol. Students were very engaged and responded very well to the question and answer sessions.

Thank you to 5th Street; a band from this year’s X Factor who came in to meet students this morning and do a question and answer session and a live performance.

I hope lots of parents and students come to the Dance Show on Tuesday to see the fantastic students showcase all their hard work. Tickets are now on sale for our upcoming production ‘Bring it on,’ I am sure it will be out best yet so don’t miss out.

Enjoy your weekend.
