What a week to end this half term! Ofsted, Year 6 transition days, and Year 11 leavers’ week. Bring it on, said SBA staff and students!  And we had the pleasure of the ice cream van today.

On Tuesday and Wednesday we welcomed Her Majesty’s Inspector and the Ofsted team in order to measure our progress. I am delighted to say that the visit went really well and when the report is published in a few weeks’ time, the headlines will be very strong.  To use a metaphor, the Phoenix is definitely rising.

I met the Year 6 students on their transition days this week and was very impressed with their maturity and behaviour. I look forward to meeting them again at the many activities planned for them over the next couple of months to ensure they are as confident and prepared as possible when they join us in September.

Today was a poignant day as the Year 11’s had their leavers’ assembly. I have been really proud of their attitudes and hard work throughout their exams so far. Enjoy the prom tonight and make sure you attend lots of revision sessions over half term and keep up your motivation.

Enjoy your half term, let’s pray for some sunshine!
