Students in Years 8-11 completed a student voice activity this week and I was pleased to hear that the overwhelming majority said that behaviour in their lessons had been better this academic year and that they were able to concentrate more.  As we continue to drive forward high standards please reinforce the high expectations at home and continue to check what homework your child has been set on Show my Homework.

A group of students from Year 10 spent an afternoon on the Natwest Business Bus this week. They took part in a Dragons Den activity where they had to think up and present a business idea to a group of experts on the bus. Congratulations to the winning team who pitched their idea of a mobile cinema to the dragons.

Brightside, a charity came in this week to talk to sixth form students about their organisation which links students in coastal and rural areas with trusted and experienced mentors to build their confidence and aspirations. We have had a lot of interest from our students already; they will be paired up with a mentor from either university or industry.

It was lovely to see so many students attending the production auditions last night. We have some truly talented students and Rocket Man is set to be a fantastic production.

Congratulations to our football teams who got the season off to an unbeaten start last night.
