Principal's Blog - Friday 27th February

posted 27 Feb 2015, 07:09 by Karen Bricknell

Welcome back, I hope you had a restful half term and well done to the Year 11 and Sixth Form students who attended the revision sessions in school. This upcoming half term is crucial in the run up to exams and I expect 100% motivation from all students.

It was lovely to see so many Year 9 parents at the parent consultation and options event on Thursday. Over the next few weeks, with the support and guidance of parents and staff, Year 9 students will be making important decisions about which options to choose to study in Years 10 and 11. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us if you want to discuss anything about the options process.

Thank you to parents for being patient with us while we trial our new parent consultation arrangements, we hope that the extended hours will improve the service and enable more parents to meet with staff.  Initial feedback from the parents that I spoke to was very positive but, as ever, changes bring costs and we will now weigh up the benefits of yesterday’s arrangements against the cost of the lost one hour of learning.

Year 7 students were enjoying the rare glimpse of sunshine on Wednesday during Inter House rugby. Congratulations to Blue House who won the girls’ competition and Red House who won the boys’ competition. Next week’s Inter House is Year 8 boys and girls rugby.

Enjoy your weekend.
