Principal's Blog - Friday 5th December

posted 5 Dec 2014, 10:21 by Karen Bricknell

Year 10 and 11 Horticulture students spent last Friday working on a collaborative project with Isle of Wight Athletics Club and Spectrum Housing. They did a great job, planting over 150 trees.

The girls’ sports teams have had another victorious week; the Year 9 girls are through to the semi-final of the Hampshire Cup with a 1-0 win against Henry Beaufort School, Winchester and the Year 7 girls beat Cowes Enterprise College 8-0.

Today is the end of the Year 11 Mock exams; I have been impressed with the behaviour and attitudes of Year 11 students. Staff will now begin the important process of analysing the papers to see which areas each student needs to focus on to improve and to ensure that they reach their full potential when they sit their GCSE’s.

On Friday next week we are supporting the ‘Save the Children’ charity. Students bring in £1.00 and can wear mufti and a Christmas jumper if they have one. Christmas lunch is available from the canteen on this day, so I hope many of our students get in the festive spirit and enjoy a Christmas lunch with all the trimmings.

Good luck to everyone taking part in the 24 hour Disney-a-thon this weekend, and don’t forget you can still get tickets for our production ‘Bring it on.’

Enjoy your weekend.
