Principal's Blog - Friday 5th June

It has been a pleasure to meet the enthusiastic Year 6 students who have been up this week for their Torch Transition Day. I am told they are a very talented group and I am sure they will thrive when they start at Sandown Bay Academy in September. I was proud to hear that our current Year 7 students did a sterling job at touring with their Year 6 ‘buddies.’

Students on the Spanish exchange trip are enjoying the sunshine in Alicante. They have toured Alicante’s most historic sights, braving the searing heat to walk up to ‘Castillo de Santa Barbara’, they were rewarded with spectacular views. They visited ‘La Isla de Tabarca’ a famous marine reserve and in the local school they have been attending lessons and they have worked on a joint project about Alicante which they will be able to use for their next GCSE Controlled Assessment. Well done to all of our students who have thrown themselves into speaking Spanish.

It was beautiful weather this week for Water Sports Club, Sports Day Club and for Year 7 and 8 Inter House Football and Rounders.

Year 11 students – we are open for revision and support on Saturday from 8.30-12.00pm so you are as prepared as possible for the Maths exam on Monday morning.

Enjoy the sunshine this weekend.
