As you may be aware following the recent Ofsted report which was published on our website, an action plan now has to be created, which Ofsted will need to agree to. This action plan will focus on the issues raised and how we as a school are going to address them. You will also be aware that I have been in the school for the last few weeks and have been able to formulate this plan and I am looking forward to sharing that with you at the start of the new academic year when a series of meetings will be available along with information about how the plan will be monitored and how we show you the progress we are making.

This week has been full of sporting successes; our sports leaders did a fantastic job running the primary school cricket festival. The Year 7 cricket team beat The Free School on Monday and were crowned U13 island champions. The U15 team were also crowned island champions after beating Ryde School. The Year 9 team narrowly missed out on becoming champions with a defeat on Tuesday. Good luck to the Year 8 team who play their final next week. We hope to have 3 out of 4 of the island trophies if they win.

Congratulations to our Year 9 Rounders team who fielded spectacularly and batted consistently to win the Isle of Wight Schools Rounders Tournament on Monday. The competition was hosted on home soil and their determination to win was evident. They won 4 games and drew the 5th.

Some of our Performing Arts students from Years 10-12 had had an excellent time taking part in higher education workshops from Mountview Academy this week. It was a great experience and a lovely opportunity for them to work with students from other schools.

I have been introducing myself to students in assemblies this week, I am enjoying getting to know both students and staff and have been made to feel very welcome. Once again I look forward to meeting parents during the next academic year as well as witnessing directly the success your children experience at the end of this term moving into the new term.
