Happy New Year, I hope you all had a relaxing holiday.

Wednesday was an important day for Year 11 students; they received their mock exam results in the same format that they will receive their real GCSE results in summer. We hope that this process will motivate students to work harder and focus on areas that they are least confident in. Thank you to all the parents who attended the parent consultations, it is imperative that we work together to ensure that your child leaves Year 11 with the very best results.

Next Wednesday we look forward to welcoming parents of Year 9 students to the Year 9 Parent Consultation and Options information event. This event will be important in supporting students to make the very best choices for their courses at Key Stage Four. There will be opportunities to speak with subject teachers about students' aptitude for particular subjects, as well as receive information about the options process in general.  All students will have a shortened day and finish at 1.45pm to accommodate this. Thank you for your support in allowing greater opportunities for parents to access teachers’ advice and guidance.

Year 7 students were awarded certificates this week for their first set of tracking. I was impressed with the number of students achieving a good attitude to learning in lessons which was superb. A particular mention to Rachel March, Melissa Simpson, Megan Hopkins, Isaac  Lethbridge, Rachael Debenham, Sophie Hargreaves, Lillie-Mae Horrill, Angharad Outlaw, Ethan Walters, Nicola Haynes, Charlie Wood, Millie Gibbs, Evelyn Harris and Finley Read who all achieved good or outstanding attitude to learning in every subject. Wilice Yau was our top achiever, she received outstanding attitude to learning in 10 of her subjects.

I am pleased to say that as a result of the new detention system and other procedures, behaviour has improved in the first week back this term. Thank you to parents for supporting the school as we drive forward improvements.

Enjoy your weekend.
