I appreciate that it has been a very unsettled week with the announcement of my resignation on Monday followed by the media coverage. We do apologise for any anxiety caused, please rest assured that it is business as usual at the academy and we are focusing on the needs of the students particularly as they heads towards their examinations.

Students have been working hard on the revised Code of conduct, it has been finalised this week. We will be publishing it very shortly, watch this space.

Year 7 students were set a Religious Studies project to research Buddhist temples and shrines and design their own - they could do a poster or make a 3d temple. We have had some outstanding entries with students putting in a great deal of time and effort, the projects will be judged by the Religious Studies teachers and the results will be out soon.

Well done to Ellie Brackenbury and Emily Seneha who are through to the regional finals of the Create & Cook competition after cooking their fantastic menu of

Tagliatelle with IOW chicken & bacon wine sauce with rocket salad; raspberry and lemon mille feuille. They will compete in the regional final on 27th June in Hook, Hampshire.

Congratulations to our Young Enterprise team who were runners up in the Young Enterprise competition held at Quay Arts Center last night, they will go through to the regional finals.

Good luck to our fantastic Global Rock team who are competing at Portsmouth Guildhall on Saturday. I am sure you will be amazing and all your hard work and commitment will pay off.

Enjoy the bank holiday weekend
