Academy Uniform
Privacy Notice
BOYS
- Blazer with embroidered logo
- Clip on/Velcro tie
- Trousers (no tight fitting/skinny trousers or jeans)
- Plain white shirt (no coloured or printed tops to be worn underneath)
- Formal black shoes
- Sports Polo Shirt with logo
- PE Sports Shorts
- Blue/white reversible rugby shirt
- House colour sports socks
GIRLS
- Blazer with embroidered logo
- Open neck blouses (no coloured or printed tops to be worn underneath)
- Formal black trousers (no tight fitting/skinny trousers, leggings or jeans)
- Formal black shoes
- Sports Polo Shirt with logo
- PE Sports Shorts
- Blue/white reversible rugby shirt
- House colour sports socks
ALL STUDENTS:
- Students must wear their blazers at all times, unless permitted to do otherwise.
- Hooded tops or hats are not allowed and should not be brought onto the school site.
- Only black scarves/pashminas are permitted within the Academy.
- Black leather shoes with a heel must be worn for both male and female (not greater than 2.5cm); no boots, high heels, plimsols or trainers. All stitching and/or laces in shoes must also be black.
- Coats should be of a length suitable to cover the Blazer.
- Black v-neck jumpers can be worn in addition to the blazer (not in place of).
Uniform can be purchased from The Big Wight T Shirt Company or The Sports Shop in Shanklin.
The Carnival Shop in Sandown has kindly agreed to sell any donated SBA uniform.
Therefore if you have any uniform that your child has grown out of you can take it to the Carnival Shop in Sandown High Street. Once they have a stock in you will be able to buy second hand uniform too.
Uniform Guidance
Presentation
Coloured hair extensions, excessive hair colouring and excessive hair accessories will not be permitted.
Students may wear one stud earring in the lobe of each ear. No other piercings are allowed.
Designs shaved into hair or shaved eyebrows are not allowed.
Only discreet make up is allowed.
Acrylic nails or brightly coloured nail varnish will not be permitted.
Clothing

Equipment and Electronic Items
All students must carry a school bag, big enough to carry a planner, books and A4 folder, pencil case, calculator and PE kit.
Mobile phones and iPods with headphones must not be switched on or visible on the Sandown Bay Academy site. If this rule is broken items will be confiscated and kept until parents come to collect them.
The school reserves the right, in all matters of dress and appearance, to determine what is
suitable and acceptable.
